We have some winter weather action going on right now. It prompted us to get our tree last night in the bitter cold weather. I think it is the biggest one we ever had (blurry picture below–ha!)! We worked on it until about 11 pm, thinking we’d have a snow day today.
Well….we didn’t! Our kids kept looking at a statistics calendar online and said we had a 99% chance of a snow day. I am kind of glad they had school, though, so we could drive home the point that sites and statistics do not guarantee anything. God is in control of the weather.
The weather got increasingly bad throughout the day today and this evening, I think it is getting icy. So we may have a snow day tomorrow. The kids are praying for one. I would love to see God answer this prayer for them, so it would build their faith!
I am finding a good pace with work right now. It is hard going some days–to separate work from home/ family time. I feel like so much pulled taffy. But today, I was able to almost balance it well.
It would have gone smoother, but our suburban decided to overheat at the post office. And that rather threw off my routine. Thankfully a kind woman offered to take me home and the kids were able to ride the bus and catch a ride with a friend. But I have to say, the woman (her name was Cynthia) was such an answer to prayer in bringing me home! When I got here, I realized I had forgotten the garage door opener. And I don’t have a house key…well I didn’t, until my neighbor gave me a set of keys back a few days ago…and you know what? My house key was on it! Hooray! Hooray! I had just slipped those keys into my purse before I left for the post office…not knowing I would really need them.
Well that is the short of it. Watch for those kind angels in the flesh, like Cynthia, that God sends your way. Notice when He prompts you to grab something last minute that you really really needed. Be aware of how much He really takes care of your every need–big and small.
Then thank Him!
