It’s Risky…

…to do new things.

…to love others as Jesus did.

…to believe what we cannot see.

…to walk in a new place.

…to meet new people and get to know them.

…to do something other than you have ever before experienced.

Because sometimes…

…we fail.

…we fall.

….we get fearful.

…we are uncertain that we are doing the right thing, in the right way, with the right motive.

And also…

…people may fail us.

…people may lie to us.

…people may not love us back.

…people do not live up to our expectations.

BUT, know this…

…Jesus never fails.

…Jesus never lies.

…Jesus always loves us.

The picture of life we are looking at may not be the picture we envisioned. But in taking the risk, we are being obedient, bold, strong, fearless, loving. In taking the risk, we started to look a whole lot like our Savior.

He risked it all for me–when I failed him countless times. Yet, He still loves me and favors me and would have risked it all for me again.

Like Peter, I’m jumping out of the boat and swimming for shore. Wanna swim with me?

If I tell you all those apply ro me today – would you be surprised? I am fighting a bitter heart and this is a timely word. Thank you- you are an encouragement!

  • Kecia:

I'm in–my friend Jennifer and I are praying for each other and ourselves, to have passionate, whole-hearted love for God. It's risky not to "go through the motions."

  • Leah:

Absolutely!! He is faithful when I am not and I am so thankful. Have a great week, sweet Holly.

Out of the boat….sometimes sputtering and coughing…but out of the boat. It would be nice to do a little water walking though. ;)

I LOVE THIS POST…Girl, I've been out of the boat for some time now, but the safety of the boat calls me back time & time again. The waves are high and the storms can be overwhelming, but if we keep our eyes on Jesus then we can walk on water!

The Word
Since then (Holly) you have been raised with Christ, set your heart on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. Colossians 3:1-3

My Savior is…

My Savior is...
Secure dwelling
Immovable rock
Shelter solace
Restful dock
Safely hidden
Sweetly fill
Softly singing
Breezes still
Rhythm beating
Gentle warm
Finding resting
Shadow storm
Lifted head
Soulful eyes
Renewed spirit
Trusting skies
Jesus shelter
Lord above
Careful lighting
Beautiful dove
Winged refuge
All complete
Crown placed
Jesus' feet
