When the hoarfrost clings to your branches and everything without would bring a frozen chill to your being…then root yourself in the warmth that remains deep beneath the ground. Root yourself and send forth shoots of roots until you are strong, stable and steadfast.
The week has been a challenging one. No lie. There are evil and cold-hearted forces at work that would like to uproot me and those I love.
I have been bold and strong this week…made some hard phone calls and written some hard final words. I have received notice of something to upend one of our children…only to find that it was a clerical error. Yet, the threat remains. And we may be making some decisions that will change the course of my day and work. We are seeking God’s best here. And the journey is unfolding even at this moment. So I will speak to it more soon, when we know.
So I am getting rooted and established in God’s Word. It really is the source of my stability. God is so very good!
On a funny note, I was heading out to prayer group on Monday and the car was blocked in the garage by the truck. Determined to go to prayer group, and knowing its benefit to my life and others as well, I determined to make a 25 point turn with the car and drove out of the other side of the garage. Can you even imagine what would have happened if I had gotten it stuck sideways in the garage? Oh I never would have lived it down!
