No matter where you are today, whatever your physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual status may be, you have enough…
Are you feeling a lack in certain areas? You have enough.
Are you feeling pressed in certain places? You have enough.
Are you feeling unworthy to speak to others? You have enough.
We live in a world that focuses on the lack. It highlights it, even. And we find ourselves comparing, whether we mean to or not. More often than not comparison will leave us feeling the lack, feeling less than.
We spend time watching shows or competitions. Who is better? Who lacks?
We spend time comparing our home and home life to others. Who is better? Who lacks?
We spend time comparing what we have to what others have.
We spend time comparing what we do to what others do.
We spend time considering how to be better….how to be more.
Where does it all lead? It leads to dissatisfaction, depression, joylessness, fear and anxiety.
All of this is because we couldn’t settle in our hearts this one principle…we have enough.
Whose enough? We have God’s enough (if we will accept His free gift of Grace in Jesus Christ).
And God’s enough?
is plenty.
Not only that, but God’s enough in us and around us equips us to BE enough, as well.
Let that settle into your soul today. Let’s push back on what the world says. Take a look at what you are looking at, considering and pondering. Think about what you are thinking about…and if it is headed into that LACK-luster world of not-enough, then pull it all in and begin by saying: I have enough in God’s economy. He is faithful to care for my every need. And because of Christ, I AM ENOUGH.
Lord, thank you for reminding us today of Your care for our details–large and small. Thank You, Father, for loving us and caring for us, as your treasure. Thank You, Jesus, for making us enough. Thank You for the many ways You show us how much You care. Thank You for the Cross. Our heart’s desire is to live out Your enough on the pokey pavement of this world. In Your Name, I pray. Amen.
